During the 1970-1980s, Slazenger V-neck sweaters sold in millions, leading to significant profits and global brand recognition for both Slazenger and SEVE. The classic V-necks were called Slazenger Courtelle, made from 100% acrylic. During the development of this project, we purchased some of them on eBay, and it’s clear that the fabric is not very comfortable.
As we identified some of Seve's strongest personal characteristics as sophistication and determination, he desired something different.
Seve had Slazenger produce his special sweater in cashmere, and the Slazenger crew had to hand-sew the panther on the chest and the neck labels in the back. He could have settled for wool, but cashmere was his choice. In a limited edition, you can (Release July 22:nd) now buy an exclusive SEVE X SLAZENGER cashmere sweater in his honor so you can tell this story to your friends!
